Infrared spectra of hydrogen-bonded complexes of tertiary alcohols with tetrahydrofuran have been measured. A detailed analysis of the profile of the νs(OH) band has been carried out. The dependence of bandshape and relaxation parameters on the H-bond strength is discussed. The results are compared with those of earlier studies on complexes of tertiary alcohols with dioxane and diethyl ether.
