Streszczenie

The first metal complex of the diester of 1-hydroxyiminophosphonic acid has been synthesized and characterized in the solid state and in solution. Diethyl 1-hydroxy-iminobenzylphosphonate forms a tetrameric nickel(II) complex, [C CHC1], as monoclinic crystals. Each high-spin nickel(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated, and diethyl 1-hydroxyiminobenzylphosphonate acts as a chelating ligand. The complex also contains two hydroxyl groups, which act as bridges between the metal ions. The spectroscopic data indicate that the same type of structure is present in the chloroform solution of the complex.
