Streszczenie

[Mg8(THFFO)8] used as a olefin polymerization catalyst component can be trapped by Ph3SiOH groups to form [Mg4(THFFO)6(OSiPh3)2] (1; 77%). We have also shown that in the reaction of magnesium alkoxide with AlMe3 the methylalumoxane [Al33-O)(Me)6]+ unit is formed, which was isolated and characterized as the molecular compound [Al3Mg(μ3-O)(THFFO)3(Me)6]·C6H5CH3 (2; 40%) (THFFO = 2-tetrahydrofurfuroxide).
