Infrared spectra of polycrystalline (CH3NH3)3Bi2I9 (MAIB) have been studied in the temperature range 13–300 K. A systematic temperature dependence study of the internal modes of the methylammonium (MA) cations has been performed. The effect of the dynamic state of the MA cations on the vibrational spectra has been discussed. Substantial changes in the infrared spectra appeared at the structural phase transition at 145 K due to the ordering of the MA cations.
