The structure of trisodium (ethylenediaminetetraacetato)europate(II) chloride heptahydrate, Na [Eu(C H N O )]Cl?7H O is poly- 3 5 12 2 8 221 meric and the Eu cation is octacoordinate (six carboxyl oxygen atoms and two nitrogen atoms). The Eu–O distances are similar to those 21 observed earlier. There are no water molecules in the coordination environment of Eu .
