Streszczenie

The crystal and molecular structure of a new 4-amino-2-methylquinolinium ½4-NH2-2-MeðQHÞ salt of stoich i-ometry ½4-NH2-2-MeðQHÞ½FeCl4 was determined. The iron cation is four coordinated by chlorine anions, and itadopts a slightly distorted tetrahedral coordination. In the structure three short intramolecular interactions can befound. A semi-infinite hydrogen bonded chain is created along the b axis. The quinoline molecules are multiplystacked along the a axis. These interactions expand the hydrogen bonded chain to the network parallel to thecrystallographic (001) plane. The compound is not isostructural with [QH][FeCl4]. Magnetic measurements of thepowdered samples were carried out. Negative values of the Weiss constants as well as the intermolecular exchangeparameter for both compounds, ([QH][Fe Cl4] and ½4-NH2-2-MeðQHÞ½FeCl4Þ, indicate the occurrence of antifer-romagnetic interactions transmitted in the crystal lattice.
