Streszczenie

Good quality U3?-doped LaBr3single crystalshave been obtained by the Bridgman–Stockbarger method.High-resolution low temperature emission spectra wererecorded in a wide spectral range and are discussed. Theemission from the2K15/2,2H11/2, and4F9/2levels to the4I9/2ground state and from2K15/2to the first excited state4I11/2,have been investigated and are discussed with respect tovibronic transitions. The registered vibronic lines werecompared with the Raman spectra of LaBr3single crystals.[12]. The La3?ions are coordinated by nine Br-ions in theshape of a tricapped trigonal prism. The LaBr3host crystalexhibits a maximum phonon energy at 168 cm-1. SixRaman-active lines at 77 K (three E2g, two Ag, and oneE1g) have been identified by Asawa [13]. Trivalent rare-earth (Ln3?) as well as actinide (Ac3?) ions substitute theLa3?ions at the same site symmetry. No hints of clusteringor occupation of other lattice sites could be detected. In the4,000–19,750 cm-1region of the U3?:LaBr3spectrumrelatively sharp and well-separated bands of intraconfigu-rational 5f3?5f3transitions were observed. The first zerophonon lines of 5f3?5f26d1transitions appear at about20,000 cm-1[1
