Streszczenie

The proton NMR second moment and spin–lattice relaxation time are studied for polycrystalline (C5H5NH)6Bi4Cl18 between 100 and 420 K. The in-plane complex reorientation of the cations is described by a three-well potential model with two correlation times. A dynamical inequivalence of three crystallographically independent C5H5NH+ cations is observed. The 1H NMR studies confirmed that the order–disorder mechanism of the phase transitions at 154 and 122 K was connected with the reorientational motion of the pyridinium cations.
