The temperature dependence of the static electric permittivity ε0 for trichloroacetonitrile (TClA) and trimethylsilane carbonitrile (TMSiCN) was measured in the temperature range 323 K - 173 K.The results indicate that there is no rotatory phase in the solid state and librational motions of molecules near the melting point may exist in TClA and TMSiCN. For TMSiCN another phase transition was observed at 180±3 K.
