The simple high-yield syntheses and some characterization of new hexacoordinate [GeCl4(TMEDA)] (1) and[GeCl2(N3)2(TMEDA)] (2) are reported. The crystal structures of neutral1and2are described. Someelectronic, geometrical, and thermodynamic features of1and2were computationally investigated at theB3LYP density functional level of theory.
