The reaction of MnC12 with [-Mg{OCH2CH(CH2)30 }2] in EtOH results in a mixed MgII/Mn n tetranu- clear complex, tetrakis(#3-tetrahydrofuran-2-ylmethano- lato- O, O': O':O')tetraki s { chloro(ethoxo) [manganese(II),- magnesium(II)]} hemiethanol solvate, [(Mg0.5,Mn0.5)4- C14(C2H60)4(CsH902)a].0.5C2H60, in which all metal sites have distorted octahedral coordination spheres and metal ions together with alkoxo O atoms form a cubane- like framework.
