Streszczenie

A potassium lead(II) pentachloride (KPC) non-linear single crystal doped with U4?ions has been obtainedby the Bridgman–Stockbarger method. Unpolarized absorp-tion, excitation, and emission spectra of the crystal wererecorded at room temperature in wide spectral ranges and arediscussed. For the first time, the Judd–Ofelt intensity anal-ysis of 5f2-5f2transitions in U4?-doped single crystals hasbeen performed. The experimental lifetimes for emittinglevels in the visible spectral region are compared with thosetheoretically achieved by using the Judd–Ofelt approach.bands [11], a strong emission in the infrared region from the4F3/2and4I11/2levels was observed. Besides, optical prop-erties of U4?ions doped in ThCl4,ThBr4, ThSiO4,Ba2YCl7,and CsCdBr3single crystals have been also reported[12–16]. Upconversion of light excitation was observed inU4?:Ba2YCl7single crystals [15].The spectroscopic investigations of tervalent lanthanideions in solutions, glasses, and crystals have been rational-ized on the basis of the Judd–Ofelt (JO) theory [17–19].The determined phenomenological parametersX2,X4, andX6were subsequently used for the calculation of thespontaneous emission coefficient (A), the radiative life-times (sR), and branching rations (bR). In this article, wepresent an analysis of room temperature absorption andemission spectra of U4?-doped KPb2Cl5single crystal. Forthe first time the Judd –Ofelt theory has been successfullyapplied for U4?ions.
