Rozdział książki
This chapter provides a general overview of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, a section of vibrational spectroscopy which holds numerous unique and valuable advantages, setting it apart from its infrared or Raman counterparts. While foundations of NIR spectroscopy have been founded decades ago, over the last 20 years it has benefitted from significant advances in the field of instrumentation, data analysis and background theory. Consequently, NIR spectroscopy has enjoyed rapid progress in its implementation in the wide area of applications, a trend that presently is being continued and which we believe will only further expand in the nearest future. This field is constantly evolving, with each year seeing keystone advances in the applications and basic science, thus rising a need for a more contemporary overview of its frontier of development. Here we introduce the state-of-the-art NIR spectroscopy, with an emphasis on the most recent advances and applications, on the basis of the keystone scientific reports published over the last few years, presenting an up-to-date general picture of NIR spectroscopy.
