Structural phase transitions at 164 and 228 K of the layered perovskite crystal [(CH3)2NH2]3Sb2Br9 (DMABA) are investigated by the Brillouin scattering method. The longitudinal phonon mode propagating perpendicular to the layers shows a pronounced temperature dependence of its velocity, not connected directly with any of the transitions. The acoustic phonon modes propagating in the layer exhibit clear anomalies near the ferro-to-paraelectric phase transition at 164 K.
