Streszczenie

The complex electric permittivity of 2-methylpyridine+water solid mixtures was measured. The considerable permittivity dispersion found in the megahertz region was discussed in terms of the effect of the water enclosure on rotations of the organic component. The proposed mechanisms of the dielectric relaxation in the system under test are based on the assumption of small cooperative movements of dipolar guest molecules inside rigid host cavities or on the concept of dipolar reorientation conjugated with phonons. The activation energy of the process responsible for relaxation was estimated as 38±2 kJ mol−1.
