Palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) in ionic liquid media (IL) represent promising catalysts of CC cross-coupling and tandem reactions. In this chapter, the effect of ILs on the catalytic activity of Pd NPs is discussed in relation to selected catalytic systems. Different aspects are considered, such as formation of Pd NPs in situ and their further transformations under catalytic reaction conditions, stabilization of Pd NPs, and leaching phenomena. Special design and structural modifications of ILs are presented.
