The orthometallated complex formulated as Rh{P(OPh)3}3{P(OC6H4)(OPh)2} (1) was obtained in the reaction between [Rh(OCH3)(cod)]2 and P(OPh)3. Based on the 31PNMR and UV-VIS results the alternative structure of that compound — Rh{P(OPh)3}3{P(O)(OPh)2} (2) — was discussed. Both — the formation process of that compound and its reactivity allow to regard it as the orthometallated complex (1).
