Streszczenie

Potentiometric and spectroscopic data have been used to establish the coordination equilibria in systems containing Ni(II) and hydroxamic derivatives of the aminoacids His, Ala, Leu, and Sar. The main binding sites are the amino and deprotonated hydroxamic nitrogens, and the symmetry around metal ion is square-planar. The presence of the strong binding sites in the aminoacid side-chain considerably influence the binding equilibria. In the case of the histidine hydroxamic acid analogue, the imidazole nitrogen is a competitive donor, and the ligand remains tridentate up to pH ca. 9. The deprotonation of oxygen of a hydroxamic moiety leads, however, to the square-planar complex with {NH2, N−} coordination.
